[ʃ-; Sanskrit »der weiß Gekleidete«], Angehöriger der in ihren asketischen Forderungen und Ausdrucksformen weniger strengen Richtung des Jainismus (Jaina). Die Shvetambara tragen im Gegensatz zu den nackt gehenden Digambaras weiße Gewänder. Die Unterschiede in Lehre und Kult sind nur gering.
